Stradivari violin

At the Museum of the Violin, visitors can explore five centuries of history of violin making in Cremona coming in contact with the great masters and their instruments : Andrea Amati , the founder of the family , his sons Antonio and Girolamo , his grandson Nicholas , Antonio Stradivari which are showing ten masterpieces , Giuseppe Guarneri ” del Gesu ” and his family , and Francis Lawrence Sturgeons Rugeri . Thanks to the contribution of the collection of the city of Cremona and loans of collections of the Foundation Friends of Stradivari and Walter Stauffer in Cremona , no other museum in Europe can currently boast a very important and comprehensive collection of stringed instruments of the school of Cremona. The Museum also offers a tribute to contemporary masters in a dedicated space.
Multimedia installations and a large number of stations illustration to the public, allowing everyone – from children to experienced visitors – to enjoy a visit to the charming and addictive , in which history and tools , smells, sounds and images converge together to give shape to stories , dreams and emotions.
A unique auditorium , designed by Japanese architect Yasuhisa Toyota, offers its guests a unique experience, where one of the violins listen a original Stardivari violin.
